Antigens with aromatic amino groups can be conjugated to proteins by a diazo bond. This property was used to synthesise an antigen-biotin conjugate using bovine serum albumin (BSA) as a bridge, and tested this conjugate in an enzymoimmunoassay for clenbuterol detection.
