Risk analysis of the exploratory survey for pesticides in cereals and by-products

Abstract

Agri-food markets face increasingly stringent international food safety regulations, coupled with growing consumer demand. This scenario represents a significant barrier to the internal and external marketing of these products. A fundamental tool to assess whether the concentration of a contaminant in food could pose a risk to human health is risk analysis. The present study aimed to assess the risks associated with the safety assurance of cereals and their by products marketed in retail outlets.
