Brassinosteroids (BRs) are considered the sixth group of phytohormones and have been shown to improve fruit productivity and quality in different crops. The aim of this work was to evaluate the effect of the application of an epibrasinolide and functional analogues of BRs on physicalchemical parameters of strawberries in protected soilless cultivation. The compounds evaluated were the natural BR EP24, the synthetic analogue BIOBRAS 16 (BB16), and the functional analogues of BB16, BB16-C and BB16-O. The BRs were applied monthly by foliar spraying on strawberry plants (Fragaria ananassa) cv. 'Frontera'. For the analyses, the harvested fruits were frozen and their juice was extracted, from which pH, total soluble solids, titratable acidity and ratio were determined. In addition, the antioxidant capacity, total phenol content and anthocyanin content were measured. As a result, fruits from BR treatments showed an increase in total soluble solids, while the control showed a higher pH. BB16 and BB16-O showed higher acidity and, regarding the ratio, there were no significant differences. BB16-O and EP24 treatments showed the highest antioxidant capacity, while the total phenol content was higher in BB16 and BB16-C. Regarding the anthocyanin content, it was significantly higher in BB16-C. Thus, the application of BRs can modify the characteristics of fruits, improving their organoleptic and antioxidant properties, resulting in potential biotechnological tools for sustainable agriculture.eng
