Productividad y resultado económico de sistemas silvopastoriles en ambientes contrastantes en Misiones, Argentina: análisis de dos casos de estudio = Productive and economics results of silvopastoral systems in contrasting environments in Misiones, Argentina: two study cases analysis

Abstract

El presente trabajo analiza los resultados productivos y económicos de dos establecimientos de la provincia de Misiones, Argentina, que han implementado sistemas silvopastoriles. Ambos establecimientos tienen superficies productivas comparables y distintas dotaciones naturales (suelo, heladas invernales), distancias y condiciones de acceso al asfalto y localización respecto a los mercados forestales y ganaderos. Cada uno de ellos adaptó el sistema silvopastoril a sus condiciones, tanto para disminuir el impacto de las restricciones como potenciar aspectos favorables. Ambos establecimientos logran resultados positivos, diferenciándose en la importancia relativa del aporte al margen bruto de los componentes forestal y ganadero: El aporte al margen bruto del componente forestal del establecimiento “Alto Paraná” con ubicación muy cerca de las industrias forestales, es 80%, mientras que el aporte del componente ganadero del establecimiento “La Meseta”, donde las heladas invernales son de escaso impacto y que presenta dificultades logísticas y de costo para el transporte, es 55%. Por el deterioro de las relaciones producto/insumo y la elevación de la relación precios ganaderos/precios forestales, entre 2010 y 2016m, la TIR de la finca “Alto Paraná” disminuyó del 19% al 6,8% al mismo tiempo que el aporte al margen bruto del componente ganadero subió del 9% al 20%.

The present article analyses the productive and economic results of two farms in Misiones, Argentina, that have implemented silvopastoral systems. Both farms have comparable productive sizes and have different natural conditions (soils, winter frosts), access distance and conditions to asphalt highways and geographical position to logs and cattle markets. Each one adapted the silvopastoral system to their conditions, seeking to both diminish the impact of the restrictions and take advantage of the positive aspects. Both cases obtain positive results. They differ by the relative importance of the tree and cattle components towards the annual financial results: In the “Alto Paraná” case, very near the main regional forest industries, the tree component participates with 80% and in “La Meseta” case, with high transport costs and “frost free”, the contribution of the cattle component is 55%. Because of the deterioration of the input/output ratios and the elevation of the cattle/lumber price relations between 2010 and 2016, the internal rate of return the “Alto Paraná” study case diminished from 19% to 6,8% and the relative importance of the cattle component grew from 9% to 20%.
