The Campeglia family, owner of the commercial horticultural production “La Maroma” located at GPS 31° 20´ 28,46” S; 58° 2´ 0,29” O; 516 (m a.s.l.) in Concordia Department, Entre Ríos, Argentina, successfully transitioned to agroecology by implementing sustainable pest management practices in their crops between 2015 and 2023. Based on the Integrated Pest Management (IPM), they used parasitoids, traps, and botanical and synthetic chemical insecticides. By constant monitoring of pest populations, they established decision thresholds and adjust control strategies. The most significant results include high-quality tomato production with minimal chemical residues, making them pioneers in sustainable horticultural practices.
