Análisis económico de un sistema silvopastoril en el Delta del río Paraná, Argentina

Abstract

El estudio tiene como objetivo evaluar económicamente un sistema productivo silvopastoril (SSP) en plantaciones forestales de álamo en la región del Delta del río Paraná (Argentina). Se analiza la integración de la cría bovina en forestaciones con rotación forestal continúa y escalonada. Se estima que la inversión inicial en infraestructura ganadera, maquinaria y herramientas es de 540 US$.ha-1., y la adquisición inicial del rodeo 267 US$.ha-1. Adicionalmente, el valor de la inversión efectuada previamente en plantaciones forestales en los distintos estadios es capitalizado para estimar el valor presente de los diferentes lotes forestales y se obtiene un valor total de 11.391,96 US$.ha-1 para una tasa del 7% y de 9.782,64 US$.ha-1 con una tasa del 5%. Este valor es considerado como inversión inicial en la estimación de los flujos de fondos de la actividad silvopastoril, además de las inversiones vinculadas al componente ganadero y el flujo de fondos neto que genera el sistema productivo anualmente. Considerando un flujo de fondos a perpetuidad, se estima el retorno económico de la actividad si se mantuvieran rotaciones continuas indefinidamente en 4,06% y 3,54% según la tasa considerada en la estimación del valor inicial de la forestación estabilizada.

The aim of the study is to economically evaluate a silvopastoral production system (SSP) in poplar forest plantations in the Río Paraná Delta (Argentina). The integration of bovine farming in afforestation with continuous and staggered forest rotation is analyzed. The initial investment in livestock infrastructure, machinery and tools is estimated to be 540 US$.ha-1, and the initial acquisition of the herd 267 US$.ha-1. Additionally, the value of the investment previously made in forest plantations in the different stages is capitalized to estimate the present value of the different forest lots. The forest value, considering 7% and 5% interest rates are 11,391.96 US$.ha-1 and 9,782.64 US$.ha-1 respectively. This value is considered as an initial investment in the estimation of the cash flows of the silvopastoral activity, in addition to the investments related to the livestock component and the net cash flow generated by the productive system annually. Considering a flow of funds in perpetuity and continuous rotations were maintained indefinitely, the economic return of the activity is estimated at 4.06% and 3.54% according to the interest rates considered for the estimation of the forestry component value.
