Biogas generation using Typha latifolia from phytoremediation trials of lead (Pb) contaminated water
Abstract
Pb is one of the most toxic and persistent metals due to its widespread use in industrial activities, mining, and fossil fuel combustion. Pb can bioaccumulate in living organisms, causing adverse effects. Phytoremediation is a sustainable technology that leverages plants to remove, translocate and immobilize metals. So, the biogas production from contaminated biomass presents a promising solution.
