Molecular determination of genetic variability, pre-flowering sex, and chemotype in medicinal Cannabis sativa varieties cultivated in Northwestern Buenos Aires

Abstract

Medicinal cannabis is increasingly used as a therapeutic alternative for managing a wide range of diseases and health conditions. In Argentina, its use has grown significantly following the enactment of Law 27,350, highlighting the need for traceability throughout the procedures involved in the production chain. Early-stage characterization of genetic variability, sex and chemical profiles in cultivars enables the optimization of resource use and ensures the quality and consistency of medicinal products.
